Welcome to the Family, Storm Cloud

Today the adoption of Storm Cloud became official. Rachel is now the proud owner of her very first horse. Congratulations, Rachel!

Lori is visiting from Austin, Texas, and had her first visit out to Shiloh today. Betsy, Phillip and Katherine joined us a little later in the morning.

All the horses were riled up by the wind, but they seemed to be having fun, for the most part.

TGIF!!!!!

On Friday, Rachel, Katherine, Grace and I went out to ranch for a few hours. We turned Ace out with Wishes and Celebrate. Tanis was in the adjacent arena and played around with Ace a bit (cute pics). Rachel also took out Storm Cloud and groomed her and worked with her a bit. Could this be the next addition to the family? Only time will tell.

Warm, Wonderful Saturday

It was a beautiful day at Shiloh today. Wishes played in the turn-out with her buddy, Gus; investigated a big rock; and hung out with her new bunkie, Gem. Gem seemed to get a kick out of sticking her tongue out at the camera.

I had some videos from the last two visits out there, but cannot figure out how to download them. Maybe Lori "Web Master" Stevens can help when she comes to visit in February.

WHOA NELLY!!!

Wishes kicked up her heels (literally) today with her new friends, Gus and Moody. She ran around in the turn-out for a good 20 minutes before I finally took her out for a walk around the ranch. We later met up with Betsy and Gem. Gem is doing great and looking very relaxed under Betsy gentle touch. Happy Birthday, Bets.

OLD FRIENDS MAKING NEW FRIENDS

Saturday, January 12th, I was accompanied by one of my dearest friends, Laura, to Shiloh. She finally got to come out and meet "my girls", and made quick friends with Celebrate and Wishes. I sure hope Laura comes out again soon. We had a lot of fun playing with the horses.

A Breakthrough with Kite

After a nearly 3-week hiatus, Betsy finally made it back out to Shiloh and had wonderful results with Kite. A breakthrough! Betsy was able to get the lead rope on Kite 3 different times, and more importantly, was able to stroke her and rub her all over, including down her legs.

I took Wishes out for a walk in her new raspberry-colored halter. She's still quite nervous, but she's getting better. A very fun day for us all.

A Winter's Day

Despite the ominous clouds over Sandy Valley, Grace and I enjoyed a couple of hours out at Shiloh with our 3 favorite horses: Kite, Wishes and Celebrate. We groomed Wishes and Celebrate, and shy little Kite allowed us to touch her on the nose.
