A Year and One Day

Well, I didn't make it out for Wishes' actual birthday, but I did go out today and spent a couple of lovely hours walking her around, grooming her, turning her out with her boyfriend, Gus, and trying to get her used to being squirted with water. Katherine helped out with lots of good advice, and held Wishes while I rasped her hooves (Wishes', not Katherine's). Beautiful Sophie was out today, too, taking video for a school project. Attached is another video that Eric took earlier in the week. Look at my girl strut her stuff! So sweet!!

Well, my little sweetheart turns one year old tomorrow (April 25th). Our good friend, Eric, was out with her yesterday and took some wonderful pics and video.

Another Shiloh Weekend

I know it's been a while since I've updated my blog, but since I'm only able to go out to Shiloh on the weekends, there is not much news to report. Wishes and Gem have been moved out to the "Boarders Area" of Shiloh. At least now she is closer to her boyfriend, Gus, so they can call to each other and flirt to their hearts' content. Wishes is looking beautiful and sleek now that she has shed most of her winter coat. She's still a little fuzzy around the belly, but soon she'll be completely shed out and looking great. You can actually see some muscles now! I love her so much. She's so beautiful and sweet, and always comes over to see me as soon as she spots me. Rachel had another riding lesson with Sabine on Saturday. Sabine is a wonderful instructor and Rachel has really grown to love her. Rachel is pictured riding her own horse, Storm Cloud, and having a great time learning how to canter.

Photos From Saturday and Sunday

Saturday, Wishes had her hooves trimmed and she was quite sore afterwards. She was still very tender over the rocks on Sunday, but had a good time running around in the sandy turn-out with Gus. The pictures in this post are of our friends, Bill and Amber riding Kestral and Traveller; Rachel riding Traveller (thanks, Bill!); a nice closeup our good friend, Eric; and Wishes running past Eric as he takes some pics of his own.

Turn Out on a Sunday Afternoon

Finally! I was able to upload the pictures from March 2nd. Rachel, Dani, Grace and I had a lot of fun chatting with our Shiloh friends - Amber, Bill, Chris, and Eric! Wishes had a great time running around with Shiloh horse, Moody; Eric's mustang, Gus; and Bill and Amber's horse, Traveler. A little later, Rachel's horse, Storm Cloud joined in. Dani took a great picture of Bill. Next time we will get a group photo (I hope).

Welcome to the Family, Storm Cloud

Today the adoption of Storm Cloud became official. Rachel is now the proud owner of her very first horse. Congratulations, Rachel!

Lori is visiting from Austin, Texas, and had her first visit out to Shiloh today. Betsy, Phillip and Katherine joined us a little later in the morning.

All the horses were riled up by the wind, but they seemed to be having fun, for the most part.
